"Spring Phlox" was awarded honorable mention. Official judges were from 2 different galleries, a representative from Kodner Galleries in Saint Louis and a representative from Rice Gallery in Kansas City.
There were First, Second, and Third Place and Honorable Mention in 5 categories : Oil, Acrylics, Watercolor, Pastel, and Mixed Media. A few artists won ribbons in multiple categories or more than one place in a category.
I am completely honored and humbled. It is very stinkin' cool!

This turned out to be a very "folk art" piece!
What we learn about changing light during every single plein air opportunity is priceless...
I learned that I need more time than this particular paint out afforded,
I need to remember my daughter's ipod so I can worship while I paint :)
and
I learned that I need to work less detailed, more flowing.
I did learn the colors to nail the road...
many thanks to my hillside painting buddy
Dawn Wagner for the color tips!

Paint your county parks 2006
This took several days at Hideaway Harbor, Portage des Sioux.
The couple came one day and sat on the bench before they went to pick pecans!

This is out at Klondike Park in Augusta.
It was a quarry at one time, now it is just beautiful.

Stained Glass Window at DC
Stained glass paint
The "leading" is actually a grey material with a sticky back that you apply much like very thin tape strips. Once it is on the glass as an outline you paint the colors in.
It is on the cry room window at this church, so you cannot see in.

Table & Sign
"His banner over me is Love" Song of Songs 4:2
Acrylic on table top with clear polyurethane
Fire of Holy Spirit
Dyed Silk Scarves
These are worship flags made of "painted" silk that I made specifically for this wall display. They are six feet long. Beautiful. They served a double purpose, after displayed for a time, I turned them into worship flags.
I made several others in other colors.
This is one of my favorites still on the stretcher:
